Sea
collisions of paint with an imaginary seaside
This series began as a desire to create a painting for my dad, who might not like abstract art but likes the sea and the colour blue. Colour is abstract - we dont need to know the meaning but it evokes feelings, memories, connection. I began with this in mind and was able to discover fragments of my experiences at the seaside - whether the collision of the sea against the shore or yellow inflatables against rust or the imaginary against the real.
