The contrasting colour palettes reflect the dual narrative structure of the novel, which sets the hardboiled world, filled with technology and chaos, against the dreamlike, surreal landscape of the End of the World. The fluidity of forms and layering of elements may echo the novel’s exploration of dreams and consciousness.
