Part of the series “Colour Theory” this painting uses a limited palette of cadmium red, cadmium yellow, black and white. The process was experimental. Working alongside more structured paintings in this series, I brushed excess paint randomly until combinations of colours began to coalesce and contrast in an interesting way. There are soft coffees, malt neutrals, dusky purples, and warm yellows against rich greens, bright reds, caramels and deep browns. I enjoyed exploring diffuse transparent textures that might suggest a dreamy, imaginary world: Fluff World.
